Housing is a basic need and is embedded in the fabric of our society. At the same time, housing in the Netherlands is not seen as a basis for overcoming social problems, but as something that can only be regained once these problems have been overcome. Luisa looks at several misconceptions about homelessness and asks what factors prevent unconditional housing. This sub-project will produce a documentary Interspace: Housing on the Edge on houselessness in Amsterdam.

Archaeological Infrastructures in Greece as Commons
This project carried out by Prof. Dimitris Dalakoglou examines how Greece’s archaeological infrastructures—foreign schools and the Ministry of Culture—can be reframed as facilitators of heritage commons. While historically tied to diplomacy, sovereignty, and elite scholarship, these institutions hold the capacity to support co-stewardship by opening archives, labs, and decision-making processes to local communities. Through case studies from sites such as Knossos, Delphi, and Olympia, the project explores how commons principles—shared governance, equitable benefit, and participatory authorship—can be embedded in practice, aligning heritage management with sustainability, inclusivity, and social equity.
